Review of "Sixty Years From Now" by Pritha Das

INTRODUCTION :

"Sixty Years From Now" is an incredible book by the author Amit Radha Krishna Nigam. He born and brought up in Vrindavan, AMIT RADHA KRISHNA NIGAM holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and is the author of ‘Musings of Desire’ and ‘Pilgrims’ and ‘The shape of faith’. He has received the Vivekananda prize from Prayas organization, Vrindavan, a Writing Knights international award, US, and he was also named as the Global Warming Champion by NASI, Government of India in 2008. His articles on history and socio-political subjects can be searched online.

THEME :

The book does not revolve around a particular theme, rather it covers the relations, art, home, society, spirituality, strength, acceptance, loss and love. The book is devided into four parts :

1. Persual of the Self : In this category there are 16 poems which explores a subtle universal theme.

2. Love Reparations : we'll find 62 poems here about love, loss, pain and nostalgia.

3. World Times : In this part author wrote about his life events and experience , patriarchy, nature.

4. The Rechoning : This is the last part of the book life lesson, spirituality and youth.

This book is a pure gem that I am going to treasure. By far the best poetic lines I came across, you could feel the wave of emotion with every passing word. These poems help you connect with your innermost soul and your true being, heartwarming and with an innocent unbiased outlook. The author maintains a roller coaster of imagination and genuineness all the way to the end. There is a hidden messages in every poem. The words are simple yet effective. Nigam paints an amazing picture of the subject he is speaking on and his thoughts are vivid yet deep. The language is mesmerising and The cover of the book is aesthetically pleasing
The fundamental rule of all readers is to never judge a book by its cover, but this book cover is really gorgeous.
The book gives all the hope and it ends on a very beautiful note. Strongly.

VERDICT :

Poetry gives meaning to our lives. For many of us, it's a way of understanding the world around us. The book is a clear index of how mature the writer is. Do read this book of poems that will touch your soul and also heal and nourish a part of your soul that only beautiful poetry can fill. Thumbs up for the poet, going off the league, I can see sheer talent and innovation. I would strongly recommend this book to everyone. This really is a remarkable book – like nothing I imagined it to be and so much more than I could ever have hoped. This is a book I would highly recommend to all lovers of poetry.
